I agree with Sri here, if it looks good to you, and you can afford it, go ahead and buy it.

The war of resolutions (can I trademark that one?) is never ending. You can very easily drive yourself crazy worrying about specs.

I think the TV market is a lot like the early PC market, with a lot of competitors and rapid change, vaporware (anybody heard of SED television? where is it?), spec sheet selling etc etc. (Remember the old megahertz war with processors?)
