I agree with the last post. If you can pay of the balance each month then it is worth it. My father has two mileage credit cards which he puts all of his business expenses on. Traveling business class round trip to Europe is worth the effort and the enrollment fee. (Hint. Buy coach and upgrade with the miles to make the most of them)

I have been a 1K on United (over 100,000 flight miles anually) for the past 3 years and prefer not to use a mileage only card. All of my expenses go on AMEX since I like the toys more than the miles now. I use my United miles to fly then AMEX points for car rental discounts and/or hotel discounts. If you fly a lot I would suggest getting hotel or car miles since you already have the flights taken care of.
