I am assuming you will be paid on W-2 as an employee. In that case you can take your business expenese on the Form 2106.

However, you election expenses are not deductiable because those would be job hunting expenses for a new occupantion. The next time you run for re-election for the same office, those expenses will be deductiable becuause you have already established yourself as politician in that office.
