I am in a stock competion at my university. I have to invest in 10 different companies. What companies should I invest in. Thanks.

You probably want to ask this on another board. This is the bond board, and generally does not deal with stocks.

Since you're not playing with real money, your best choice is to make ludicrously risky bets with your funds. Choose penny stocks that have shown lots of volatility over the past week. If you can trade options, you can usually pick up some good deals on out-of-the-money options that can pay off handsomely. Of course, this presumes the goal is to have the largest portfolio at the end. If the goal is instead to learn how to invest prudently, your choices should be quite different.
