I am in much the same situation- Have been retired about 6 months and my IRAs and 401k"s are all over the place. I've done lots of research on asset allocation and specific mutual funds. I've contacted several financial advisors at the full service brokerages and had them do plans re specific objectives.I've traded a small account with Brown Co, to get a feel for the dynamics. But the bottom line is that I'm nervous about managing a sizable portfolio.
I'm presently trying to find any studies that point to the advantages vs the cost of profession management. If anyone knows of such studies I would appreciate a reference. Sorry that all I have to offer is comiseration!!
