I am in my late fifties and I am sometimes daunted by the fact that both of my parents died before they reached 65.

This past year I lost one of my best friends since kindergarten to anorexia in her fifties. I also lost another wonderful friend, just 50, to a wasting disease that was characterized by drastic weight loss no matter how much she ate (not cancer).

In fact, I have lost my entire family, parents and both sets of grandparents, my husband and my in-laws, by now so I have no one.

It's sure hard. . .
