I am long on Gillette. And their MachIII is doing treat. Just look at the Gillette board (or even ask the shorting question (en garde!)) before shorting it.

I think the last place you would want to look as to whether to short a stock or not is the stock board, they are full of people who are long and in love with the stock.

E.g. Coke has been a bad stock for so long (as in a badly managed company with a good product) and there are still fanatics on that board - they just say if they had more money they would buy more stock because it is now a bargain.

I just had a thought that one of the foolish rules for shorting a stock could be that someone on the boards says buy ala the rule breaker equivalent.
