I am no car designer, so I believed what I read in this forum about a month ago that "unsprung weight" was such a big deal wheel motor drives were unlikely. Does this technology "solve" or mitigate the problem?

Small specialty commuter cars strike me as a mistake for a major producer like F. I suppose you have to experiment and keep up on technology, but does this get F anywhere they want to be?
