I am trying to make sure of your facts:
1. Retired, 58
2. Pension = $2000/month
3. Health Insurance, who is paying this?
4. Disability Insurance on you and your wife why?If you are retired why do you need to protect your income. Is your wife retired, why disability insurance?
5. One child, college, how many years?
6. 401k from work, $500,000 with alot of options for investing and withdrawal. Why start early withdrawal and pay 10% penalty? You only have another year and a half to wait.
7. Post-tax account that will cover your child's education or will you need to tap your 401k funds for this.
8. What is your gross income?
9. What are your total living expenses?
10. Have you done a cash flow study (income versus all expenses)?
I am a leader for a Retirement Planning Study Group that deals with these kind of issues, but the answer to the above questions are needed to see if you are missing anything.
