I ask: just how much have they got?

But that is just it. It is none of your business how much they have, and it would limit the audience as well. Those of a smaller grand total would feel out of the loop and those of a significantly greater total investment might ignore it for the same reason.

By telling you I have 18% in bonds you get a Big Picture of my investment style. If the 18% was posted as $1000 or $100,000 it would just be a number without perspective.
