I assume Fuskie when you question the month the Star Wars game will be released -- and rumor or not, I really have to assume one is coming out, since it would make no sense not to release such a title -- you are referring to 2015 and not 2014? If I understand this correctly, Marvel Infinity is the only new game version this year?

You bring up an excellent question as to when it should be released. Here's my feeling.

Disney should perhaps release a Star Wars Infinity game in May 2015, one based on the older films. This way, fans can take comfort in the fact that the usual May release date for a Star Wars film won't be utilized. In fact, imagine if the game were released on May 4, 2015, the so-called May the Fourth be with you day. Further, that would coincide with free comic book day (which, since it falls on May 2 this year, would be close to the event's date next year; I can see a free Star Wars comic coming out at that time, one that also promotes the Infinity game; wonder if Tim Beyers might eventually come to the same conclusion).

Then, Disney could release in November 2015 the Infinity game based on the new movie. I would make fans pay full price for two new discs, I wouldn't just release new figures that unlock content on the previous disc (this assumes I sort of understand how this platform may work, which I may not).

Even if new characters are revealed via the game's release before the new movie comes out, it won't matter, because the novelization should be out before the movie comes out, as I believe is par for the course (I remember reading the novelization for Attack of the Clones before the movie came out). Plus a whole host of other merch will be out.

I'm not sure a non-Marvel writer can't do as good a job as a Marvel writer, but I get your point.
