I assume you are being sarcastic but maybe this would have been better posted on another day. I think a lot of us are already depressed enough that our vote and many of our other constitutional freedoms are dead. We don't need it rubbed in.

There was no sarcasm intended at all in this post. If you think that things are so bad in this country, then I suggest you spend some time in Kabul, Baghdad, Teheran, Moscow, or several hundred other places in this world. Maybe then you might appreciate the great freedoms that we still enjoy. Is our country perfect? No, it never has been. But even with our problems, even with our less than ideal people in politics, even with people who can't seem to appreciate what we have, it's still the greatest country on this earth.

Now, I'm no spring chicken myself. But I've spent many years around the world in service to our great country. And I'm not going to let anyone with a defeatest attitude ruin my celebration. If you think that the Fourth of July is a funeral, then it's probably time for you to crawl into a whole and pull the dirt up over yourself.
