I posted this on the REHP board, but didn't much response. Any help here?

I'm building a bond ladder using I-Bonds. I was lucky enough to have some funds to buy $20,000 the end of Oct., when the fixed part was 3%. For the next six months(or more) the fixed rate is 2%, which is fixed for 30 years.

While my wife and I haven't come close to limiting out at $60,000 this year, I'm wondering if it's worth buying anymore this year with the 2% fixed? My opinion would be to wait till May 2002 and see what the rate will be then.

Any opinions?

Thanks, Go
