I bought two (of many :-)) bikes (well, frames anyway) from Supergo and from Airborne direct. Both are great bikes. What you lose is the ability for easy service and shop-owners tend to take care of you when drop money on a bike. You also have to have the proper tools to assemble the bike when it gets there, or pay for it at the shop, and I guarantee they will charge you a nice penny to assemble a mail order bike.

If you have a good local bike shop think about getting the Trek there. Good local shops are hard to come by these days...
