I can understand the idea of sticking with relatively easy to understand stocks.

However, the whole point of screening/analyzing stocks is to learn the "financial/mathematical mumbo jumbo", right?

Well, how do you do one without the other?

If you strip out the cold, hard numbers (and the analysis behind it), all that's left is the usual "analyst mumbo jumbo" which is devoid of precisely what you are looking for...any kind of real analysis!
