I can't understand why you are blaming the union. Teachers have
gotten a tremendous benefit from having unionized representation
and you seem to feel that the same union who got the teachers
benefits is taking advantage of the members.

Cause... they are.

But it is not the union's fault if the investments don't do
well enough to offset costs or if investment fees are high.

But its their fault for recommending high cost investments to begin with. Which they do by pointing people to advisors who will put them in high cost investments.

That would be like blaming teachers for school bus breakdowns.

If I met a teacher who researched buses, and then told me I'd be best off taking bus #5, and then I get on bus #5, and they charge me $20, go to the wrong part of town, and then the axel falls off. And the only reason the teacher told me to take bus #5 is cause she got $5 for the recommendation, you're damn straight I'd blame the teacher.
