I couldn't find anything in Pub 17 or using the search at irs.gov. For real estate taxes paid by credit card where a fee is charged to use a credit card, is the fee part of the total deduction for the property taxes ?No, it's not, at least not as real estate tax. If this were a rental or business property, you might be able to claim the fee as interest expense. If it's your personal residence, then the fee is personal interest -- which is nondeductible under current tax law.Ira
