An update on my sister and her plea for rent money. (Also subtitled "It's pathetic for a 43 year old to ask her 75 year old father for rent money.")

She asked, I said "no."

No explanations, no reasons, nothing. They wouldn't have helped. Every time I have given her advice to help her predicament, she has found an excuse "why it wouldn't work."

When I said "no," I could tell by her pause on the phone that she was shocked I had said that. I don't think by an stretch of imagination, she thought I would turn her down.

They made their rent though. It was weird though when she told me about it. It was as if it was my fault she had to sell all her scrap gold (she works for a jeweler) to make ends meet. I guess it's easier to blame others than yourself.

Thank you to everyone for support. I truly needed it.

Suesan
