I do believe that type-II diabetes can be reversed, and without drugs.

Yes, but within limits. The problem is prolonged T2D, without diet and exercise control, leads to pancreatic beta-cell apoptosis (death). Once that occurs, it is non-reversible and, basically, the same as T1D. When one gets to the stage of insulin-dependent T2D (beta-cell apoptosis), it's basically the same as T1D, with added metabolic dysfunction.
