I do it for free by contacting each of the 3 main CRA's directly. Of course, I live in GA where I get 2 free reports each year (about time to run them again, too). Soon the rest of the country will be able to get one free report each year as a federal law takes effect. What I do not get for free is a FICO score, and since none of the CRA's offer just a FICO purchase, it is annoying.
