I do not know that, overall, the big picture of pollution from nuclear/coal/petrochem plants, plus the carbon footprint from creating batteries, solar gear, is that much different.

We have a couple reactors here we don't seem to be able to give away. We have debris from Fukushima drifting toward our beaches.

Now, at the tailpipe you may be correct. I do not know.

But globally, I'm not all sure that switching from one kind of car to another kind of car actually represents a net decrease in global pollution.
