I do technology for a living. you'll manage your budget much better if you keep to the envelope budgeting system. When you see the cash and spend the cash you are generally less likely to impulse buy.Research has shown/proven that people buy more when using a debit/credit card which is why most stores offer you a card when you check out. Some even lure you with "discounts". Fact is: If you have cash and are willing to ask for it, most retailers are willing to give you the same discount based on cash. Some will even give you more. If they don't, just go somewhere else. It's rare to find something at one retailer that's not offered elsewhere. Jer
