I don't know a thing about Shutzhund training (never even heard of it!) but would be interested in what others say. From what I understand so far, it's a series of certifications for dogs (not sure what breeds, but I know German Shepherds) that is used widely in Germany. I guess it is pretty involved, and there are clubs of people that work together on it. We are just trying to learn more about it and whether it's something that would be worth doing."Frodo" is an interesting name...does it mean something? Can you post us some photos? It's funny, because our breeder hadn't heard the name either. I'm a longtime fan of J.R.R. Tolkien (15+ yrs), and Frodo is the name of one of the main characters from the Lord of the Rings books. In the books, Frodo was a hobbitt. Basically, a small-sized man (around 3' tall) that was from a very peaceful farming community. It the recent movies, he was played by Elijah Wood. My wife and I had read that two syllable names work well for dogs, and my father-in-law said that a dog needs to have 'r' in its name. So, 'Frodo' seemed like the best choice. It's amazing how smart the dog is. He's eight weeks old and has been in the house for two days, and he already comes to tell us when he needs to go to use relieve himself. MarcMarc
