I don't know anything about iLife, but if it ships with the MBA isn't that the same as optional apps that ship with the surface?

Surface ships with a fully working video editor? A multi-track audio editor, and a full function photo editor? Not based on what I've seen.

Regardless, it's totally irrelevant. Either have someone competent strip both systems down to the bare essentials or use the stock install from both. Stripping some optional stuff from one and not the other and saying "Look we have more space" is as I said, dishonest.

My guess is that most people would simply leave it in place. Only techies would want to remove it to a USB.
