I don't think it's clear that he intended to exclude anyone. You may interpret it that way, but I don't. Plenty of people who don't share President Bush's faith have said they didn't feel excluded. Yes, some people do feel excluded, but you can't please everyone.


Are you a Christian?

I only ask because I asked before on this board if Christian Americans would be upset if GWB failed to make some sort of religious reference in his speech. So, if you are a Christian, would you have been upset, bothered, or disappointed?

I only wonder because it seems that he could have left that part out while still relaying his message without potentially alienating any Americans. The purpose of his speech was to attempt to unite us all, right? So why would he choose words that he (and his speech writers) know would leave many out unless this was his intention?
