I don't think of tar sands as a renewable energy source.
You might get better results posting on the oil&gas board or the energy&utilities board.

The economics of it have improved substantially and I think the market has already recognized the potential.

Investing in Oil&Gas & related companies right now seems to me to be sort of like closing the barn doors after the cows have already left.
If you chase one you might catch a good ride yet, but seems to me the cyclical nature of oil & gas will result in many of these companies again losing value after...

1.High prices cut demand.
2.Supply increases because of high prices.
