I filed form 843 for a refund the IRS owes me. Does anyone have any idea how long before I can expect a refund?

I think the previous responder missed that this was an 843 claim, not an electronically filed original return. Ignore that timetable.

You should hear something within 30 days, under routine correspondence processing guidelines. Without know what the issues are, there's no way of guessing how long it will take IRS to act on the claim. If you haven't heard anything after 30 days, call 1-800-829-1040 and ask them to check on the status.
