I found it to be a bit more "academic" than other value investing books. Not quite as readable as Benjamin Graham's books, which is the best place to start for a beginner. Start with "The Intelligent Investor", or even "The Little Book of Value Investing" by Christopher Browne. After that, you may be more prepared for Greenwald's book.
