I found out recently that I have a chronic disease which requires a lot of medical care. My health care spending has dramatically increased since last year; there's not way I could have predicted this.

I'm really sorry to hear this and I'm glad you wrote to tell me/us. My ephiphay is to step back and be grateful that I don't NEED to use the $1000.

Too bad I can't let you use my FSA $$. Now THAT would be a good tax law.
