Greetings fellow Foolish sober folks. I've just run accross this discussion site for the 1st time tonight. Please celebrate with me today on my not choosing to take a drink since 9/15/1986. THANKS FOR THE HOPEFUL WORDS I'VE HEARD HERE TONIGHT.I remember the old days that playing the bigshot was an equal shortcoming along with my drinking. Once I managed to stop for a short time and saved over $1000. in a Christmas club. Due to a power failure one day my workplace had to be shutdown before lunchtime. Of course, some of us believed that we owed it to ourselves to celebrate. We went to a local bowling alley for "a drink". After a "few" I noticed that a couple of woman from the plant were there and though I was married, I felt an overwhelming need to impress these ladies.(When I drank many shortcomings seemed to surface).Naturally I immediately headed for the money in the Christmas Club acct. I'm ashamed to admit how much I squandered that day. Since I've found a way to not drink today I find myself loosing money foolishly happening less and less. I am new to TMF but I am hoping that through the wisdom of many plus the insight of our professionals my resources are to increase exponentially. I hear it is happening to some of our fellow travellers already. Thanks for being open and honest with me and I'm looking forward to meeting you all sometime. One Day at Time. FRANCIS1952
