I give Amex a lot of credit for making this simple and painless.Your experience is much different than mine. My wife & I called Amex about a month ago to put her on my card. Last week, we got a letter saying they couldn’t give her another card on my account because she already had one. When I called yesterday, the service rep verified that she was NOT on my account. After 5-minutes on hold, he returned to ask for more information, but the short version is – I couldn’t get an answer from him! Somewhat irritated at his babbling, I asked “Can I get a card for my wife under my account?” He responded “Sir, I have already answered that question for you.” When I said “This is a simple yes or no question - Can I get a card for my wife under my account?”, he again responded “Sir, I have already answered that question for you.” The discussion was over - I hung up. Except that this is the only card that Costco accepts, I would drop this account in a heartbeat.
