I gotta say it.The President acting to ensure his own safety, and the safety of the Executive Branch of government, is exactly, exactly what he should be doing now. This is no time for him to be pursuing photo ops, running to the smoking ruins in New York, shaking his fist at the sky. His job is to make sure that our government stays stable and functioning in a time of crisis. A bunch of hot-blooded grandstanding isn't going to save a single victim, and might even exascerbate the situation. The last thing we need right now is a dead president to complicate a situation that is already quite challenging as it is.As I understand things, we as yet have no definitive knowledge of who is behind the attacks. There will be plenty of time for a measured response, plenty of time for contemplating the meaning of the disaster, and plenty of time to contemplate the new threats that have been raised by this morning's events.FWIW, I vote Democratic. I'm not normally a Bush supporter, but these aren't normal circumstances.Cheeze
