I had a new question posed to me today at a luncheon, and I just don't know. Please give me your opinions, thanks.

The facts as presented to me:
1. Fulltime employee: primary duty is management
2. Fulltime graduate student: major is organization & management
3. Takes the Lifetime Learning Credit, but is reduced due to income
4. Education expenses that are not included in #3 calculation are taken as a deduction under the auspice of a business deduction
5. If the individual is required to attend a seminar for school, counts the travel (hotel, gas receipts, food receipts) in #4 sounds legitimate right?
6. The question: the individual must board the dog during this period because he is single and does not trust his friends to look after the animal properly; is the expense of boarding the animal deductible?

No deduction. Pet expenses are purely personal.
