I have a 17 year old daughter who is just finishing up here junior year. She is attending an international school in Germany
I spent a couple of high-school years in Germany -- as well as four elementary-school years. We kids went to DoD schools, though. Only a few American kids went to the international school, and there was no IB back then, when dinosaurs roamed the earth.
Your daughter doesn't have to know what she wants to do or major in. I didn't, and I'm managing just fine, thank you. Actually, some of the jobs I've had didn't exist when I was in high school, so it was just as well that I hung loose.
She needs to find a college where she feels comfortable. She can probably figure out a few interests she wants to continue in college -- drama, track, math, photography, whatever. Then she should find a college that has a strong general program, especially in the areas she knows she'll still be interested in.
Try www.princetonreview.com. She can fill in what she knows of her interests, grades, etc., and it'll tell her colleges that might work for her. She can investigate those online (as can you), and that will lead to more questions and probably more colleges.
Good luck!
