For these cards like the BellAtlantic MasterCard, where you earn so much towards your phone bill for every dollar you spend, etc., does that amount apply to long-distance balances as well, since they all show up on the same bill?

Ponderous questions

Jedi,

This depends on what your particular program is doing. With my Citibank Visa, I get airmiles for whatever I charge. With my phone bill, I get 5 miles for every dollar I spend in long distance, in my case MCI.

If you're Mastercard is giving you credits for whatever you spend, I'm guessing that since it's affiliated with BellAtlantic, the credit would go only to that portion of your bill. However, they "may" be crediting toward your entire amount, including the long distance portion.

Regardless, that info has to be written on the information that came with the promotion.
