I have a related question... *WHY* would you slpi in the following as minor additives?

I have added mandarin oranges (in a mead) and the thing the shop owner told me was... imagine the flavor without any sweetness. Oranges are very bitter, and that mead was very bitter, but very orangey too. So with grapes or raisins, you might get a lot of tannins from the skins and some mouth feel from the fruit.

I'd "dry-hop" the poppy seeds

Cauliflower... this one I don't get. Does it even have flavor? did you lose a bet? Trying to get more vegetables in your diet? I'd treat it like pumpkin. Cook it and add it to the primary. Make sure to use a bucket not a carbuoy for fermentation so you don't explode it.

on a related note: I brewed for the first time in ... 5 years? 2 weeks ago and my Irish Red is currently in a keg in my kitchen; I'm looking for a spare fridge.
