I have a student loan from graduate school ('95-'97). I was wondering if I could withdraw money from my IRA (Roth), 401(k) or 403(b) to pay the loan without incurring a penalty for early withdrawal. There is no exception to the penalty for student loan payments. Withdrawals up to the amount of your contributions to your Roth IRA, not including conversions and earnings, are tax and penalty-free.
