I have an inherited IRA from which I must take RMD. The record date for distributions is Dec. 24. Is it more advantageous to take the required distribution before or after the record date?

Does it really make a difference?

No

Are the funds that will be paid out as distributions always in the share price or are they added shortly before the record date?

The number of shares liquidated will be based on the NAV on the date of distribution.
