I have been with some companies that are willing to hire friends of Senior Executive Management or the owners that are sometimes willing to hire friends or even friend of friends for positions where the employee has absolutely no, zero, Nada Experience at all. These companies are, of course bad companies, often eventually Chapter 11 Bankruptcy cases.

A decade or so ago, under the former CEO of Burroughs Corporation, who ran Sprint, one a good company, now under Hesse restored to good company status again.

One example of Sprint's prior poor management they bought a Venture Capital Start-up company I helped Fund - Nextel(NXTL). The two cell-phone companies has totally in-compatible technology network architectures. The plan was to first merge the technologies -- NOT possible. Then to support and develop in parallel both networks. In sufficient technical and Financial Resources to do that. Result, a few years after the Nextel acquisition Sprint wrote the whole investment down to zero.

A more recent example of a Bozo-corporate acquisition was Hewlett Packard's acquisition of a UK Firm that was not worth 10% of the purchase price. Litigation, of course follows. --- Good actually because the employment outlook for attorneys and legal professionals is NOT Good. Law schools should accept no new applications until past Law School graduates find gainful employment as lawyers.
