I have done it in my kitchen. Would not do it in there again (unless I used a different paint around the stove area). I love it. I used a sage green (only one color needed). It's awesome for hiding bad spots and nasty looking walls.

There is a suede brush to do the technique (this will give the illusion of two colors, in my case, the sage is primary and there is almost a highlight a little lighter).
