I have had good luck buying roses at my local farmers' markets. Quite often they have short stemmed roses at 1 dozen for $6 at the ones that I go to, particularly if they were picked a day or so previously. A couple times I've even see 2 dozen for $10. I think for 80 roses, your grandma won't mind that they aren't long-stemmed. I think it's a great idea. Masses a flowers are so luxurious and the smell will fill the house!! If you wanted to try to be extra LBYM, you could convice her to dry the roses after a week and save the petals/buds for potpourri, etc. I hope you find them.
