I have had no trouble getting corrections made, but you have to do it all in writing since it is impossible to get through on the phone (even though they're required by law to have a phone number you can use). I wrote BOTH the credit reporting agency AND the source of the error (Department Store). You will get an updated copy of the report FREE when it is corrected.

Due to the frequency of errors on these reports, you should always request all three reports before applying for credit. It can save a lot of grief.
