I have to admit I had never heard of Dave Pelz before.

I have however practiced that "15 yards - PW, full swing, hit 2 inches behind the ball" modified by using a SW instead and with a miminum 45 degree open club face. That stroke is IMO one of the most difficult in golf and takes a lot of courage. Only recommended on a near perfect lay.

If and when this stroke suceeds it is a thing of beauty to see the ball go up twice as high as far and stop dead (sometimes near the hole).
