I have to have a broker for my profit sharing account. I like my broker and I trust my broker, but I do not let him sell me anything. I tell him what I want to do after I do my own homework. Occassionally I give him my homework to do so he can earn his commissions. The most important thing is trust, and you apparently no longer have that with your broker. I suggest it is time for you to move on. If your account requires a broker then find another. If it does not, consider trying it on your own.
The last thing you want is a liar and a thief running (ruining) your portfolio.
Sometimes these lessons are painful and expensive, but it can get worse if you let it. Remember, no one cares about your money as much as you do.
