No. of Recommendations: 2
I have to retire. I am lost. So much advice everywhere and I will ask you guys. My wife and I are 59. She still works and has a cash retirement pkg offered by her company of 250,000$. She has a 401k worth 600,000$. We have regular old fashion savings account of 170,000$. Our only debt of 220,000$ is on our home at 3% for 10 more years and our home is valued and appraised at 400,000$. I am retired military and rcv 1500.00$ a month and now must retire from my present job due to health. I GET NO retirement from this job. My wife wants to keep working until age 63. But the company wants her gone. She currently makes 130,000$ a yr plus benefits and awesome medical. She will get another job if she has to go and retire from this company next year.
So, any recommendations as to where to put money and make some investments? I have read and studied and have ideas of my own, but I guess I am just looking for some experienced ideas. - phded

Realize this is an inheritance board and is more focused on wills, trusts, probate, etc than investment ideas. I suggest posting your question over on the retirement investing board.

Here is a link to that board

One investment suggestion would be to consider moving that $600K in the 401k to a self directed rollover IRA. You will have a broader range of investment options available to you. And 401Ks usually have much higher fees than you would have with a low fee IRA custodian such as Vanguard or Fidelity.
