I haven't missed a bit the back-stabbing, greedy, SOB partners that I had in my old firm. Not all of them, but more than I cared to admit at the time. Over the years, I found that the folks I needed to watch out for the most were the very ones who claimed to be on the same side I was on. Sounds bad, because it was. It's been almost 8 years since I left my firm, and I still have hard feelings about many of my old partners. The good news is that I've left them in my dust. I actually make more money doing part-time consulting from my mountain home than I made working full-time with a hotshot firm. Hard to believe, but true nonetheless. One of the best parts is that my old partners know it. Well, so much for bitter feelings on a Monday afternoon. Now back to good karma.
