I haven't tried Splenda, but I have tried Stevia. It is an herb sweetner, all natural, low cal. 1 tsp Stevia = 1 cup sugar! I am experimenting cooking with it and have found some recipes out on the web by just doing a search on Stevia.I too am fighting the fat as I approach 50. Cutting out the processed sugar and simple carbohydrates seems to help. I see a doctor who practices some eastern medicine and she told me to model my eating habits using the 40/30/30 pattern (zone diet): 40% protein, 30% carbohydrates (complex), and 30% fat.Has anyone tried this?darster
