I having trouble understanding how he had "huge secret credit accounts" when you were "completely blind and stupidly trusting in letting him handle all the finances for the past 25 years". Were they really all that secret, or were you just not paying attention?

Was he incurring this debt and failing to pay the taxes because he was engaged in some secret double life, or was this house of cards supporting a lifestyle you were participating in?

My wife handles all the finances and pays all the bills. If I ever have a question about these things, and I frequently do, we sit down and review them until I am comfortable.

If he was forging documents that you should have signed, or fraud like that, then I can feel for you. If you got into the situation together, then in my opinion you should get out of it together.
