I just dropped by for the heck of it. Sold my VRIO shares after deal was announced.

In a stock swap buyout or merger, you may want to hold on if you like the acquiring company.

But for a cash deal there is little reason for holding shares until the point of actual transaction. Even if you get $1-2 per share less (about all the discount was versus the stated transfer price), you are free to redeploy your money and move on.

Of course if the NASDAQ keeps tanking you may be thanking your lucky stars that you did not have the money already moved into another stock.<g>
