I know how that goes. Is it a two drawer file cabinet? If so, could you stack some shelving on top of it? (And put what ever is now on top of it on top of the sheving? My file cabinet is 26 inches deep and the two drawer book case is 28 inches wide so it would only overlap by an inch on each side.

OK. I exagerated. I actually have a thing with 2 drawers and hanging files on top. It's plastic. Nothing grand. But since the files hang from the top, there is no top to put anything on. Actually, this is why I have such trouble filing... I always have stuff piled on top!!!

I actually CLEARED my desk today, after distracting myself with the vacuuming this morning. Everything looks nice. Hopefully it will stay this way for 24 hours or so.

still in the decluttering mood... I hope it lasts.
